Release Day: Zac & Evie Drawn to fight by Lilliana Anderson

facebook banner zac and evie release
Finally, Zac & Evie is here! Today is the official release day for Drawn to Fight: Zac & Evie and we’re so excited because you’re about to read an exclusive excerpt from the book!

What’s it about?  It’s a coming of age story about learning that you can’t control everything. It follows Zac as he fights in the local underground fighting ring in order to keep his family together. He’s struggling with the weight of the world on his young shoulders and Evie, being the oldest of five children and a natural nurturer, senses a need inside him that she feels compelled to explore. They have a romantic connection that goes back years, but this is the first time they’ve seen each other at the same time. Their attraction is undeniable, but it comes at a bad time for Zac. Keeping his family is more important than dating, but when you feel like you need a certain person in your life just to breathe, staying away isn’t exactly easy.
Why do I want to read it? If you’re a Drawn Series fan, you’ll want to read it just to see Damien and Etta in their life after Redemption. And if you’ve never read the Drawn Series before, you’ll want to read it just to witness a beautiful story about the importance of family and the sharing of burdens. It’s about trust and commitment and growing up enough to realise that sometimes, letting go is the best thing you’ll ever do.
Convinced? You can purchase Drawn to Fight: Zac & Evie from iBooks,AmazonBarnes & Noble and, Kobo.
Not convinced? Read on, check out the blurb and read the excerpt. You might just find your next favorite read…

Synopsis

New Adult romance, for 18+ only due to sexual content and adult themes. Can be read as a standalone.
Drawn to Fight begins a new series in the world of the Drawn Series, following Redemption and featuring, Damien and Etta’s daughter, Evie, in her own coming of age drama filled with angst, love, passion, need, and a healthy dose of obsession.
Zac Rivers. A boy no one wanted to know. Always angry. Always fighting his way in and out of trouble. It was no surprise when he was expelled from school and never heard from again.Until now.I found him at the Londonderry Brawl, and I watched him fight like an animal. Strong. Controlled. But desperate. I sensed in him a purpose – a need to win – and I wanted to know what was so important to him. The way he fought was mesmerising, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Then, it was over, he’d won and I needed to leave.
He didn’t want me to.
When his lips met mine, somehow, he stole my heart, and in that moment, I knew my world was forever changed. I needed to know this boy. I needed to discover all there was to know about him or I’d never be able to breathe again. No one thinks we should be together. They say his bad news.
Well, people say I’m bad news too.
Then, as fate would have it, I was forced to introduce him to my most fierce protector. A man whose past is riddled with secrets and mistakes; a man who fought his way from the darkness and into the light; a man called Damien – my father.
My name is Yvonne Rhodes, although, you may prefer to call me Evie. I’m the eldest daughter of Damien and Henrietta Rhodes. Inside me, I have my mother’s sense, and my father’s passion.
This is Zac’s and my story. It’s about needing someone to the point of obsession. It’s about losing control, and finding a way to pick up the pieces when everything seems broken.
And it’s about love. One that’s so strong, nothing can stop it.

EXCERPT

“Were you looking for me?” I ask, my heart thudding in my chest as I try to keep my cool.
His smile widens, and I’m sure I see a bit of a blush as he drops his gaze to look at a spot on the floor. “Seeing you is a happy accident, but I’m actually looking for someone else,” he states, lifting his eyes again as he looks around the room.
“I’m the only one in here.”
He nods, seeming distracted as he glances back over his shoulder like he’s trying to decide whether he should stay or just go.
“Listen, I’m um…I’m sorry about the other night. I shouldn’t have done that without asking you. I uh…kind of lost my head a little.”
“It’s OK. I quite liked it,” I smile, feeling my cheeks heat slightly.
“You did?” he asks, like he’s surprised that any girl would ever want to be kissed by him.
“It was a little messy, but yeah, I liked it a lot.”
He steps forward again. “That’s not normal for me. Just so you know. I don’t always go out into the crowd and well, you know.”
“That’s good to hear,” I respond, feeling as though my cheeks are burning hot now as well.
“I haven’t seen you out there before,” he comments, moving closer again. To keep myself from burning up under his gaze, I drop my eyes and set my brush to the side, a nervous feeling rising up in my stomach. I pick up my canvas and move it to the drying area, needing that movement to give me a little control. I’ve never been alone with someone who makes me feel this way before. All the other boys, they were just boys. I never had this…
“That’s a pretty awesome painting. It’s yours?” he asks, his voice right beside me, brushing softly against my ears as he moves to inspect my work. It sends chills down my spine that ripple through my body and tingle out through my skin. Having him next to me is intoxicating, and I have to close my eyes for a moment to keep myself calm.
“It’s not finished.”
His eyes move slowly over the canvas as he takes in every detail. Then they turn to me and seem to do the same, taking in every detail of my face.
“You must really like fighting,” he murmurs, his voice deep and sexy like he’s talking about something so much more intimate.
“Don’t you?” I practically whisper, my voice deciding to leave me when I need it most.
His eyes drop to my mouth and he grins when my tongue slips out and wets them, then his eyes lift to meet mine and my stomach flips. He’s so close. “Yeah. Yeah I like fighting a lot.”
The distance between our mouths becomes infinitesimal, and I feel sure he’s going to kiss me again. I can feel his breath, gently brush over my waiting lips and I part them willingly, my heartbeat and my breathing short and shallow in my anticipation.
The sound of a message alert splits the air between us and causes us both to jerk back as if being caught doing something we weren’t supposed to.
“Shit,” Zac hisses as he reaches into his back pocket and pulls out his phone.
I take a step back from him, giving myself some distance so I can gather my thoughts and get a bit of control over my emotions. I suddenly feel like I’m about to cry and I keep swallowing down a lump in my throat, feeling ridiculous at the thought of my behaviour. What is wrong with me?
Clearing my throat, I leave him tapping a message on his phone and move back to my station where I pick up my palette and carry it toward the sink to wash off. “So, that person you were looking for, is she about this tall?” I pause my clean up and hold my hand just above my shoulder to indicate. “Long blonde hair and blue eyes – really pretty?”
“Um. Yeah. That’s her.”
“She should be up in the dark room. Mr Sparks took her up there a little over an hour ago.”
“She’s with Sparks?” he spits, his demeanour instantly changing – darkening – as he makes a move for the door.
His reaction surprises me, when just a moment ago it seemed he was about to kiss me and now he’s running off to some other girl. “Who is she? Your girlfriend or something?” That was a really immature thing to say. I know that, but it seemed to fall from my lips before I could think to stop it.
He turns to face me. “What? No. Jesus. You obviously have no recollection of me from before. Meg is my sister.”
“You’re sister? But your surnames…”
“Are different. I know. She’s my half-sister. Same mother. Different fathers.” He seems hurt by the fact that I didn’t remember and my throat tightens and my eyes burn.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have…I just…I don’t know how to do this – whateverthis is.” I indicate in the air between us and his expression softens a little at seeing my distress. He steps back toward me then stops and shakes his head like he’s trying to clear his mind. He looks at me, his eyes beseeching and something strange happens. Like this electricity or something. I don’t know what it is. But it’s in the air between us and it feels like I could touch it if I wanted to.
“I don’t know what it is either. I…fuck, I don’t have time for this right now.” He steps back and I step toward him, wanting to say something more but he shakes his head again and walks backward out the door. “I’m sorry. But I need to stop Meg.”
“Stop what?” I call after him

Release day: Get Off on the Pain by Victoria Ashley

Release Date: February 2, 201520140703-111739-40659135.jpg

tag17Sexy, tattooed and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more… I live for the pain; it’s what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive. I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until… my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire—right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again. When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me. I’m doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me. She’s the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can’t get enough of even though I’m almost down to my last breath. And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn’t understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life—one that might get us all killed…GOOTP CR tag19 Ever since she came into my life, standing there behind me on the porch that day, I knew she would be hard to forget. From her messy, caramel hair and pouty lips, to the fire in her big, green eyes, I knew she was going to test me unlike anyone else ever has. I could tell she was a fighter just like me. The only thing I need right now is to get out of my head and away from the woman beside me. “Go inside, Lyric. I’ll wait here until you get in.” She looks over at me from the passenger seat, one hand on the door handle. She’s not letting me go so easily. I can see it in her expression. “You’re not going home?” I turn away and look straight ahead, refusing to look at her. If I do – I’ll cave in. I’ve already done that enough with her. It needs to stop. “No. I can’t be there right now. You really don’t need to worry about it. Now go. Goodnight.” She takes her hand off the handle and pulls her seatbelt back on. “Good, because I don’t feel like going home either.” She nods her head toward the road. “Let’s go.” “No,” I say firmly. “Just go inside.” “Why not? What is the big deal? What is so wrong with taking me along and getting to know me? I’m not asking you for anything other than company. It’s a big fucking world and it sucks being in it alone.” I let out a slow, deep breath and finally look over at her. She needs to see that I’m a fucking monster. I ruin lives and it will be no different with her. “Because I don’t want you around me when I’m drinking. I’m working hard here to keep my fucking hands off you. If I get fucked out of my mind… I’m going to want to fuck you and once I fuck you, the game changes. You don’t want that. Trust me.” She nervously runs her hands through her hair and looks at my lips, swallowing. “You don’t know shit about what I want. Maybe I’m not as innocent as you think. Now can we go? It doesn’t look like Bailey is home anyways. I don’t feel like sitting home alone.” She always does this to me. I don’t get why she is so hard to get rid of. She’s pushing me and I can only hold off for so long before I fuck her senseless and pull her into my dark world; a place she doesn’t belong. “Just keep your distance from me. If your friends are there then you hang out with them. Okay?” I look over at her when she doesn’t respond. “Okay, Lyric? I need you to understand and stay away? Say it.” She looks up at me with fire in her eyes. She’s not happy with being told what to do. Another thing I like about her. Well fuck me. “Fine. I get it. Let’s just go,” she says stiffly.GOOTP RDB pic tag15New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. You’re the Keys

Loki’s life was a lie.  Everything he’d done for the last eight years was under an assumed name for the Benton Police Department.  He’d lied, cheated, and stolen all in the name of the law.  He wore himself thin, and not even the open road could take away the pain anymore.  Then his little next door neighbor moved in, and suddenly he had a reason to get out of bed every morning.  Except he was an officer of the law, and a member of a prominent motorcycle club in the area, The Dixie Wardens MC.  Neither of which she could deal with.

To My

It wasn’t the scars that covered her new neighbor’s body that scared Channing.  It was the badge.  The fact that he belonged to The Dixie Wardens MC was only icing on the cake.  She should be running away as fast as her legs could carry her.  But there’s something about Bryce ‘Loki’ Rector. Something that eased the unreasonable fear she felt every time she came into contact with something that reminded her of her past.

Cuffs

They say love isn’t easy, and it definitely isn’t for the two of them.  Loki has to learn to feel again, and Channing has to learn to live.  Their road isn’t an easy one by any means, but Loki makes two promises.  One, he’ll never let anything hurt Channing again.  Two, it’d be over his dead body that he’d ever let her go.

Excerpt:

“It’ll work, I saw them on Facebook.  Another friend of mine made these for her daughter’s kindergarten class, and they were a big hit,” Baylee said with enthusiasm.

I looked at the half banana I had on the stick, and the bowl of melted chocolate she wanted me to dip it in, and thought ‘fuck it.’

Reaching forward, I dipped the entire thing into the chocolate and pulled it back out again.

The chocolate coated the entire banana, and then leaked down partially on the stick.

I rolled the stick around between my fingers as I watched the final stray bits of chocolate drip off the concoction before I set it down on the wax paper beside the bowl.

Baylee was doing the same from her side as well, while we waited for whatever secret meeting the men were having to break up.

When I’d tried to go find Loki, I’d been met with a wall of men’s eyes, none of which had been Loki, and I’d retreated right back to the kitchen and Baylee.

“How many of these do you have to make?”  I wondered.

She set the banana pop down that she was working on and reached for a new one as she replied.  “He has twenty two in his class, a teacher, and a teacher’s aide.  So I’ll make twenty four.  Does that sound good?”

Sounded good to me.  “Yep.”

We worked side by side for the next twenty minutes while we spoke about our jobs, as well as the fire and police departments that a few of the men in The Dixie Wardens worked at.

“Why don’t you work here?”  I questioned curiously.

She’d just told me that she worked in Kilgore, Texas.  Which was nearly an hour away from where we were at right now.  Seemed to me if my husband worked at the local fire department, then I’d try to get on at the department in which he worked.  Not to mention it was nearly an hour closer.

That was one hell of a drive to do every three days.

“Benton Fire Department is a really small department.  They only recently started running three engines.  Two at the North side of town, and one at the South side of town.  They only have two ambulances, and they already have the positions filled for paramedics,” she explained. “Maybe one day I’ll look to get on at the department, but I like where I’m at.  I also don’t think I could handle working with Sebastian.  He’s too bossy, and I don’t think I would be able to stop myself from telling him to fuck off.”

I giggled.  “That would be fun to see.”

I could only imagine Sebastian giving Baylee an order of some kind.  Then she underminded him in front of the entire department by telling him to go ‘fuck himself.’

He’d never hear the end of it then.

“I guess I can see why you wouldn’t want to work with your husband.  I could only imagine how freaked Loki would be if I worked with him.   He’d wrap me in cotton, then probably get shot in the process because he was too busy worrying about me rather than his own butt,” I agreed.

Baylee snorted.  “That’s nothing but the truth.  I’ve had my own form of protection from those guys myself.  They don’t like it when their women are in danger.  Trust me on that.”

“Bet your ass, sweet cheeks,” Sebastian’s deep baritone voice said from behind us.

Then the unmistakable sound of a hand meeting the meaty part of an ass rent the air, followed by Baylee’s shriek of outrage.  “Sebastian, you big shit.  You made me get chocolate on my fingers!”

I turned just in time to see Sebastian put Baylee’s fingers into his mouth and suck.

My eyes returned immediately to what I was doing while my cheeks flamed.

A warm hand sliding around from my hip to my stomach had me turning my head to the side and up to find Loki’s amused face.

His big body was shaking in silent laughter at the awkward position I was in, and the degree of redness still tinging my cheeks.

“What’re you making?” He asked curiously, as he watched me dip another banana on a stick into the not-so-melted-anymore chocolate.

“Chocolate covered bananas for Johnny’s kindergarten class party tomorrow,” I informed him.

His eyes moved from the banana in my hand to the finished ones cooling on the wax paper, and his eyebrows furrowed.

“Sebastian, did you see what they’re making your son for his Christmas party?”  Loki asked.

My eyes went from Loki’s furrowed brow to Sebastian, and the expression on his face was comical.

“What the fuck are you making, Baylee?”  He exclaimed.

“Chocolate covered...oh fuck!” Baylee yelled.  “What the hell, the picture Winter showed me of hers didn’t look like that!”

Winter, she explained, was her partner at the Kilgore Fire Department.  Winter had made these for a family barbeque, and they’d been a big hit with the kids.

“What’s wrong with them?”  I asked in confusion.

I didn’t see anything wrong with them, I mean sure, they were a little messy looking.

The outsides had drips of chocolate that ran down the length of the banana in rivulets, giving off a vein effect.  And the chocolate had clumped more about an inch down from the tip of the...holy shit!

“They look like chocolate covered dicks!” I shrieked.

“And there it is,” Loki chuckled as he pulled me in closer to his body.

“I can’t give these to a bunch of five year olds!” Baylee cried.

Sebastian picked one of the chocolate covered dicks...bananas, and held it up for inspection.  Then he surprised the ever-loving shit out of me and took a bite of the concoction.

“It’s pretty good,” Sebastian offered.  “You can’t take them to his school, but the guys will eat them.  They won’t go to waste.”

Loki followed suit, grabbing up six separate dried chocolate covered dicks and walked into the living room.

We followed behind him, Baylee and I, side by side, as we watched him pass out the dicks to the men remaining in the living room.

There were only seven now, and every one of them took the creations with a wary eye, but nonetheless took a bite anyway.

“This is the best dick I’ve ever tasted,” the old man who looked like Santa exclaimed.

Baylee and I giggled as Trance turned to the old man.  “Hopefully it’s the only dick you’ve ever tasted.”

Loki has been undercover for a while, his life is a lie and he's ready to get out.  Being in the armed forces and then joining the PD, he's ready to go back to his life.  But then he can't help staring at his neighbor Channing all the time, and when she needs his help, he jumps to it asap.  They can't fight the atraction they have, it's explosive, and the longer they fight it, the more intense it gets.  He tries to stay away because of his job, he can't put her in danger, but he just can't help himself.  5months and they're trying to overcome some obstacles that have crossed their lives. I was shocked with a little something that happened (lips are sealed) it had me smiling and exited to see where their story was headed.  Loved the end and all her characters. I love Lani Lynn Vale's Dixie Wardens!!! I'm so glad I came across Lights to my siren and I can't wait for more!!! This is a must read series!! Hot Bikers, police officers, paramedics and overall ALPHA MALES!!!
